Your GST invoices print these details under Bill to. Your address's state, or your GSTIN's, decides the invoice's place of supply, and so whether the GST is IGST or CGST and SGST.
Steps
- Open Billing in the menu. Until you add an address, Billing starts with Add your billing address for your GST invoices. Press it to go straight to the card.
- Under Billing details, check your Legal name: it starts as your company's name.
- Type your GSTIN if you have one. The State then fills in from it by itself.
- Type your Address (building, street, area and city), choose its State (when you have no GSTIN), and type its 6-digit PIN code.
- Press Save. "Saved." shows beside the button.
Good to know
- Changes apply to your next invoice. Invoices already issued don't change.
- The address, its state and its PIN code go together: an address needs both.
- The state must be the one your GSTIN is registered in. To change it, change the GSTIN.
- Nothing stops working without an address. Until you add one, your invoices show the provider's own state as the place of supply.
When it doesn't work
- "This GSTIN isn't right." Check the 15 characters, or leave the GSTIN empty.
- "Type the 6-digit PIN code." A PIN code has 6 digits and doesn't start with 0.
- "Choose the address's state." Pick the state from the list.
