Most common trackers work, for a single vehicle or a large fleet. Ask support before buying a make you haven't used with the app. You never choose a make or model in the app: you add a vehicle with its tracker's IMEI, and the tracker is recognised by itself.
What a tracker needs
- A SIM with mobile data, kept topped up.
- Power from the vehicle, wired in by a fitter.
- Our server's address and port, set in the tracker by the fitter (by SMS, or the maker's tool). Support gives you the address and the port for your make.
Steps
- Check the tracker has a SIM with mobile data, and power from the vehicle.
- Ask support for our server's address and port for your make, and have the fitter set them in the tracker.
- Add the vehicle with its tracker's IMEI: see Add a vehicle.
Good to know
- Ignition: trackers wired to the ignition tell the app when the engine is on, so it can show Idling and idle time. Others show Parked and "Ignition not reported".
- Immobilising needs a relay fitted to the tracker by your provider.
- Trackers fitted for state rules, for example on buses, taxis and goods vehicles: the tracker keeps sending to the government's system as its first server. The app is added as its second server, beside it, never instead of it. Ask support which makes have been tested with the app; untested makes are tried on the bench first.
- A make support hasn't tried yet: ask before buying many. Support tries one first, on the bench, in about 15 minutes.
